Philadelphia, PA
- Center City District and Hornitos will partner for the return of Center City District Sips, the much anticipated, Happy Hour tradition. For 14 weeks, beginning in June, Wednesday evenings turn into a celebration of warm weather with friends, a chance to network with colleagues, and explore new restaurants in Center City Philadelphia.
Beginning June 6, Center City District Sips takes place in bars and restaurants Wednesday evenings from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. through August 29, excluding July 4th. More than 90 participating bars will feature craft cocktails, wine and beer for reduced prices, and many feature DJs, singer-song writers and other live entertainment. This is the chance to get out of the office and into that spot around the corner you’ve been dying to try.
Center City District Sips celebrates its 15th year in 2018, and is excited to keep the fun going with a focus on Philadelphia’s finest local bars, artisan mixologists, beer gardens and more. The program activates green spaces in the city, drives business to restaurants, and creates a vibrant after-work scene to ward off summer boredom. Participating bars and restaurants will offer $6 cocktails featuring Hornitos, $5 wine, $4 beer and half-priced appetizers.
The Hornitos Paloma, the featured cocktail of Sips, is an increasingly popular and refreshing summer cocktail that will be found at several of the participating Sips locations. Founded in 1950 in Tequila, Jalisco in Mexico, in honor of Mexican Independence Day, Hornitos® Tequila is a premium tequila made from 100% blue agave. The name Hornitos means “little ovens” referring to the ones used to roast agave and create a clean taste featuring floral and herbal notes. For more information visit hornitostequila.com.
Lyft is the official rideshare partner of Center City District Sips, and encourages sippers to take responsible rides home after an evening out. New users to Lyft can receive $10 off first ride by using the code SIPS2018 lyft.com/invite/SIPS2018. All summer long, Lyft is your responsible ride home.
