Philadelphia, PAThe James Beard Foundation - The James Beard Foundation published its list of Restaurant and Chef Award semifinalists in advance of the 30th annual James Beard Awards for 2020. The esteemed group of semifinalists represents a wide-ranging collection of culinary talent.


The James Beard Foundation's 2020 Semifinalists Announced

This year's Semifinalists include twelve regions in categories such as the Best New Restaurant, Outstanding BarProgram, Outstanding Baker, and a Rising Star Chef 30 years of age or under.

The complete list of 2020 semifinalists is available on the James Beard Foundation's website.  The Foundation is going to also announce its final nominees for each Award category during a live press conference in Philadelphia on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, in conjunction with the Constellation Culinary Group.

Jeff Guaracino, president and also CEO of VISIT PHILADELPHIA, along with Clare Reichenbach, CEO of the James Beard Foundation, will co-host the press conference as well as corresponding breakfast at The Barnes Foundation. Nominees for more than 50 awards categories, among them Restaurant and Chef, Restaurant Design. The event is going to take place at 9:00 A.M. and will be streamed live online.

This year is the 30th anniversary of America's most sought after honor for chefs, restaurants, journalists, authors, and other leaders in the food and beverage industry. Throughout its three-decades, the Beard Awards have actually both sparked and reflected trends in America's food culture.
