In addition to serving his new role as Culinary Director, Fuentes will also oversee upcoming projects from the MilkBoy brand.

Fuentes brings more than two decades of culinary expertise and knowledge to MilkBoy with a strong interest in fast-casual dining and perfecting his craft in burgers, fries, and sandwiches – noted as his favorite dishes to create in the kitchen.

“It’s an honor to join the team at MilkBoy, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to use this role as an outlet for polishing my craft and passion for fast-casual even further,” said Chef Yun Fuentes, Culinary Director of MilkBoy. “I believe in the current concept of MilkBoy, and instead of reinventing the wheel, why not simply make it rounder by enhancing the signature dishes.”

Before joining the MilkBoy team, Fuentes worked the restaurant circuit in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, under noted Chef Roberto Treviño.

After Fuentes traveled to New York City where he honed his culinary skills as an apprentice under Chef Jean Georges Vongerichten before coming to Philadelphia where he landed the title Chef de Cuisine at Jose Garces’ Tinto, Village Whiskey, and later at JG Domestic where he was named Philadelphia’s Rising Star Chef in 2013. Following, Fuentes worked as Executive Chef at Michael Schulson’s Double Knot, Stephen Starr’s Alma de Cuba under Chef Douglas Rodriguez, Fuentes’ “culinary hero,” and before MilkBoy, opened The Wayward as Executive Chef.
