Crab Du JourPhiladelphia, PA - If you haven't had Crab du Jour seafood before, you might be wondering: What is it? This new restaurant from Raleigh, N.C., brings a Louisiana flair to your next seafood meal. The chain has eighty locations in fifteen states. While it's not in every city, it is expanding rapidly.

The “Crab Du Jour” Special Sauce

The chain currently has 17 locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, with plans to open more than double the number of restaurants in these states within the following year. By 2021, it expects to have 130 locations nationwide.

What is Crab Du Jour Special Sauce?

It's a rich, buttery sauce that pairs well with most seafood boils. The juicy crab sauce, for example, contains four sticks of unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped onion, and all-seasons. This sauce contains cayenne pepper, onion powder, lemon pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Those who like a spicy sauce can also opt for a lemon pepper or Cajun-style sauce.

The sauce is freezer-friendly and can be prepared a day ahead. Once you are ready to serve the seafood, simply reheat the sauce in a microwave or oven bag. You can even freeze leftover sauces for up to three months. You can also keep them in the refrigerator for up to one week. Once opened, you can use leftover sauce for dipping cooked seafood or pour it over a seafood boil. The sauce also makes a delicious addition to a Garlic Butter Seafood Boil.
