Philadelphia: Old City's newest culinary addition The Little Lion is open for business. At 6,500-square-foot The Little Lion at 3rd and Chestnut streets opened for lunch on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. daily. Specializing in new American cuisine. Specialty cocktail. Where upscale casual meets understated elegance with hints of revolutionary inspiration.

Philadelphia, PA - The Little Lion brings American comfort food with a Southern twist to Historic Philadelphia. The dramatic 6,500 square foot restaurant is housed in a former 1847 bank building - and is named after the father of the American bank, Alexander Hamilton (who was nicknamed the 'little lion.')

The restaurant boasts stunning views with three floors, 25 foot ceilings, restored eight-foot original window panes, a grand staircase, balcony, interactive chef's counter and five unique dining spaces. Upscale elegance meets understated elegance. Look for hints of revolutionary inspiration throughout.

In the kitchen, passionate chefs fire up small plates, house-made cheeses, charcuterie boards, salads, sandwiches and signature entrees (including vegetarian fare). Weekend brunch features an expansive selection of sweet and savory features, including four varieties of Eggs Benedict.

At the bars, look for 16 draft lines pouring craft beer, cider, cold-pressed coffee and house-made draft sangria. Specialty cocktail menus rotate by the season and feature house-made shrubs. Happy hour kicks off every weekday at 5:00pm with discounted drinks and appetizers.

Owners Chris Younge and Jason Dills named the restaurant after founding father Alexander Hamilton, America's first treasury secretary. The duo, both history fans, hand-picked the location for its historic charms and architectural details. The Little Lion is a proud part of Old City District's renaissance - that now includes the new Museum of the American Revolution right across the street.

The Little Lion is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, happy hour, late-night - and now - weekend breakfast. Five unique private party spaces are available for any occasion and celebration. For more information, visit www.thelittlelionphilly.com or call 267-273-0688.
