Restaurateur Peter Serpico is planning a yet to be named Korean restaurant, located at 2025 Sansom Street in the Rittenhouse Square, at the former location of Il Pittore.

Serpico, Korea-born and Baltimore-raised chief, has begun to make a noticeable imprint on Philadelphia's restaurant landscape. This new restaurant will focus on traditional appetizer-entree-desserts and Serpico's own take on banchan (Korean small dishes of food served along with cooked rice) and classic soups and stews. the chief promises a mostly traditional menu, using techniques geared towards the American palate.

The space was previously occupied by Il Pittore, an Italian restaurant owned by Stephen Starr and chef Chris Painter, with an upstairs dinning area that seats 65 and a downstairs is being redesigned to host a 35 seat beer-focused bar area.

Serpico - South Street restaurant, "is a collaboration between James Beard Award-winning chef Peter Serpico and restauranteur Stephen Starr. Located on South Street, the 60-seater has a true neighborhood feel, with cozy booths, counter seating and a small bar at which the full menu is available."
