The new shack will be positioned one block from the upcoming Philadelphia Fashion District. Shake Shack will join PetSmart, Target plus Fine Wine & Good Spirits as the recent move in's to the Midtown Area.

Shake Shack first arrived in Philadelphia in 2012, delivering its Roadside Shack selection of burgers, hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries along with frozen custard to 20th and Sansom streets in Rittenhouse Square. It was followed by the University City location year later and two restaurants in King of Prussia.

Established by NYC restauranteur Danny Meyer in 2004 who went public in 2015; the company had recently revealed a significant expansion on the books. With 26 new openings last year all around the world, the company is planning to open 50 brand-new locations by the end of the year.

"Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack fans lined up daily for three summers." - From Shake Shacks Website
