Philadelphia, PABala Cynwyd’s Dairy Cafe to Close; Zagafen to Open in April - Bala Cynwyd’s The Dairy Cafe at 321 Montgomery Avenue closed its doors and will return across the street this April as Zagafen over at 370 Montgomery Avenue, a fantastic all-kosher adaptation of Philadelphia's pizzeria Zavino. Proprietor David Magerman along with consultant Greg Dodge of Zavino Hospitality (ZHG) unveiled the news in front of The Dairy Cafe which has happily supported the area’s largest Orthodox neighborhood for the last three years.

Bala Cynwyd’s Dairy Cafe to Close; Zagafen to Open in AprilDodge premiered his initial dining establishment, Zavino, in Philadelphia’s booming Midtown Village neighborhood almost ten years ago; he has since launched the new eatery in University City. Other Zavino spots, including a particularly family-friendly Enza restaurant in Wyndmoor, PA as well as a Zavino in Kansas City. Also, Dodge introduced Tredici Enoteca right across the street from the first Zavino in 2015.

“We are happy and thrilled to develop our offerings in beautiful Bala Cynwyd,” says Dodge, who also consults for Michael Salove Company (MSC) in their hospitality real estate division. “Ever since we premiered Enoteca Tredici in nearby Bryn Mawr, we’ve thought of bringing Zavino to the Main Line, and with the premiere of Zagafen, to our fans and friends will have a terrific, all-kosher option for delicious pizzas and Italian-inspired fare.”
