Philadelphia, PA - With the start of the new year, many Pennsylvanians are looking to start their New Year’s resolutions to get back in the gym. The good news is on Monday, the state will lift its ban on Fitness Centers and hopefully this time for good.
The Gym's to Reopen in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Gyms will reopen for the first time in weeks on Monday, Jan. 4, 2020. However, some COVID-19 restrictions will still be in place.
After facing a four-month closure during the start of the pandemic, gyms and fitness centers were allowed to reopen back in June, with additional safety restrictions, only to be closed again in December due to a spike in COVID-19 cases. The restrictions will now be lifted at 8 a.m. Monday morning, Jan. 4, as well as the ban on indoor dining.
However, the ban on gyms and indoor dining in Philadelphia will not expire until Jan. 15. depending on the number of new cases, the Philly ban could be lifted sooner than the two-week extension set by Mayor Jim Kenney.
