HORSHAM, PA (January 28, 2016) - Chef Tim Spinner and business partner Brian Sirhal are bringing more Feliz to Montgomery County with the opening their fourth contemporary Mexican restaurant, Taqueria Feliz, in Horsham. Taqueria Feliz, their second restaurant with this name, will take over the space occupied by Pizzeria Felici, 303 Horsham Road in the Elements Shopping Center.

"While our Italian off-shoot earned positive feedback, we decided to stick with what we're really passionate about and what we're known for - Mexican cuisine," said Sirhal. "The wood-fired oven is ideal for making tortillas, nachos, enchiladas, fundidos, tlayudas (Mexican style pizzas) and other Mexican specialties that our reputation is built on and the larger kitchen enables us to have an even larger menu than the original Taqueria Feliz in Manayunk."

Taqueria Feliz in Horsham is a more casual "cousin" to the duo's Cantina Feliz in Ft Washington. The newest family member is similar to their restaurant of the same name, Taqueria Feliz, in Manayunk, but a larger kitchen allows it to have a more extensive menu. Sirhal and Spinner also own La Calaca Feliz in Fairmount.

Taqueria Feliz in Horsham has a tequila bar with over 50 different tequilas, 10 draft beer lines, bottled and canned beer, and a variety of Taqueria Feliz signature margaritas including the renowned three chile margarita. Flat screen TVs throughout the 30-seat bar area provide a great backdrop for guests to sip on a Santana Margarita while eating tacos and watching a game. Happy Hour runs 4:30-6:30 p.m. daily. Spinner has collaborated with Executive Chef Michael Brenfleck, formerly of La Calaca Feliz, to create an exciting menu of classic taqueria dishes with a modern, Feliz spin including crab and lentil enchiladas, shrimp and chorizo fajitas, tempura battered fish tacos, and the classic Feliz carnitas tacos. For a healthy twist, the restaurant is happy to substitute bibb lettuce for taco shells in any dish. Generously portioned entrees are priced at less than $20 and a creative "Little Amigos menu" is available. Dinner service begins at 3 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends.

The long list of appetizers includes the traditional homemade guacamole for which the restaurant has become known, as well as Bacon and Apple Guacamole, Chicharone Guacamole (with crispy chicken skins, charred scallions and chili honey glaze), Super Seed Guacamole (with pepitas, sesame, chia seed, hemp seed, almonds, honey and sea salt) and Ceviche Guacamole (with hamachi, cucumber, lime aioli and pomegranate). Lunch will be offered on weekdays starting on Monday, February 1. Both Taqueria Feliz in Horsham and Cantina Feliz in Ft Washington  offer a lunch special - two courses plus fountain soda or iced tea for $14.94.

The décor of Taqueria Feliz is rustic with a brilliant color palate featuring a dynamic Dia De Los Muertos mural in the bar and dining room by artist Alison Dilworth, a South Philadelphia artist whose work can be found at all four of the Feliz Restaurants. The entrance sets a festive mood with corrugated metal walls, Mexican posters and traditional star light fixtures over the bar and booths. A cement floor covered with distressed red and white checks and pale green walls resemble the colors of the Mexican flag. Colorful light fixtures illuminate the 80-seat dining room and large windows overlooking Horsham Road draw even more light into the space. The restaurant has a private dining area that seats 30 behind rustic sliding barn doors.
