Philadelphia, PAHappy Hour at Ardmore’s DePaul's Table - Philadelphia tour guide Shelley Chatterjee and I (Realtor Michelle Leonard) love sharing and tasting different dishes and eating early, so we decided to go to Happy Hour.

DePaul's Table

My tastes are simple. I like it the best. DePaul's Table is located at 7 E. Lancaster Ave (corner of Station Rd) in Ardmore’s decor is dazzling. This Main Line restaurant has an elegant ambiance which I love. Even though I have had dinner at DePaul's Table - this was my first time attending their "Social Hour," which occurs every day between 4:30 and 6:30 at the 40-seat bar, or you can sit at one of the tables in the bar area. I was surprised at the wide selection of delectable appetizers priced from $9 to $18. Most of the items were $10 to $11. Very reasonable and top-notch.

It started with a delicious glass of seasonal sangria - think berry - created by Lynn Rowan, bartender extraordinaire. When you talk with Lynn, you feel you've been friends forever
Naomi, our server, was very attentive and provided stellar service! Shelley and I started with the Crispy Buffalo Shrimp with blue cheese sauce or the Blackened Shrimp with the Sweet Pepper Remoulade when owner Anthony DePaul stopped by and encouraged us to try both. I am so glad that we did. Shelley's favorite was the Crispy Buffalo Shrimp. I enjoyed both. Some of my friends don't like spicey, so I would 100 % choose the Blackened Shrimp if I were eating with them. Both are excellent.
Hat's off to Anthony DePaul for always greeting every table. This only happens in top-tier restaurants. I was excited to meet Anthony's parents, Tom and Joanie DePaul, who happened to dine at the adjacent table simultaneously - they are both so sweet. Tom is a huge Eagles fan looking forward to the playoffs, as am I.
Talk about a Culinary Journey!!! We ate so many different dishes. Most appetizers were on the happy hour menu. Executive Chef Jose Galicia is passionate about his cooking. Chef Jose brings heart and passion to cooking and leading his team in the kitchen. The proof is in his savory dishes! Shelley and I had the Roasted Beet Salad with Goat cheese, Kafir dressing, and roasted walnuts (on the Social Hour menu), and Chef Jose recommended mixed greens with a honey balsamic vinaigrette topped with shrimp.

Chef Jose's recommendation for the win for both of us. The dressing was scrumptious!!! My two favorite dishes - one is not on the Social Hour menu. The Candied Bacon is $16 - thick cut with apple bacon jam. I loved it. I "let" Shelley have one bite/piece and ate the rest. Even though it was different, it reminded me of my mother's Sugar Bacon. My other favorite was the Kona-crusted Filet tips which are excellent. They are cooked with shallots and mushrooms. Yum!! Even though we were both stuffed, we found room for our last dessert - a warm chocolate chip brownie with vanilla ice cream. A perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Anthony DePaul and Chef Jose Galicia, thank you for this delicious experience - I can't wait to return. Who wants to go!?!
