Philadelphia, PA - The concourse to the 16th & Locust northwest corner remains closed indefinitely while the City of Philadelphia inspects a protruding wall and makes repairs.Philadelphia, PA - The concourse to the 16th & Locust northwest corner remains closed indefinitely while the City of Philadelphia inspects a protruding wall and makes repairs.

The concourse was closed in May after a DRPA/PATCO police officer on patrol noticed cracks in the wall. It was reported and appropriate PATCO maintenance responded to inspect and take action to close the corridor.

As a safety precaution, PATCO management said the concourse was closed due to the possibility of tiles falling off.

An engineering consultant for the City of Philadelphia was at the site on June 5, 2017 and performed selective demolition work. The consultant indicated the wall is stable and has bulged slightly and has some minor cracks due to water and vibration above.

PATCO management is in constant contact with the City of Philadelphia tracking the progress of the project.

At this time, it is not known when this area will reopen.
