We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
Bucks and Chester counties have committed to give back this holiday season in partnership with #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving taking place on December 1, in addition to over 100 other organizations in the Philadelphia area including Habitat For Humanity Philadelphia, Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Film Society and The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
For example, with 53 organizations participating and the help of corporate partners such as Anthony Perno (Allstate), Approved Mortgage Group, Doylestown Brewing Company, Green Street Real Estate, Doylestown Brewing Company and the John Meulstee Home Selling Team, #GivingTuesdayBucks of Bucks County has set a goal this year of raising $201,500.
Additionally, #GivingTuesdayChesco of Chester County is welcoming back many of the 75 nonprofits that participated in last year's initiative along with many first time participants including Westtown School, Greener Partners, Chester County Historical Society and the Kolbe Fund.
