Barcelona – Extensive array of Spanish-centric small plates & wine with an outdoor patio. A welcoming tapas restaurant and wine bar arrives in East Passyunk. The expansive restaurant, outfitted in reclaimed wood accents, has an industrial feel, features a patio, offers a regularly changing menu and serves Spanish dishes both traditional (albondigas) and contemporary (red snapper crudo). 1709 E. Passyunk Avenue, (215) 515-7900, barcelonawinebar.com
The cuisine is clean and rustic, with tapas shaped by Mediterranean, Spanish, and South American influences. Nearly 400 wines are featured on the wine list. As one of the largest Spanish wine programs in the United States, They offer an extensive selection from Spain and South America. We serve 40 wines by the glass and are constantly expanding and refining our wine offerings.
BWB provides a fabulous late-night menu including classic sharable items such as the Paella Mariscos with Mussels, Squid, Clams, and Shrimp or the Chicken Pimientos featuring Roasted potatoes with lemon and hot peppers. Additional favorites are core tapas specifically, the Pork Belly and Empanadas are a couple of my “must order” dishes.
