Otto's Supper Club & Social to Open its DoorsEagleville, PA, is about to gain a unique venue that promises to be more than just a restaurant. Ashley Power, a seasoned Philadelphia hospitality professional, is launching Otto's Supper Club & Social, a 700-square-foot space brimming with culinary experiences.

Ashley Power's Otto's Supper Club & Social

Power, a 2006 Drexel University culinary school graduate, has worn many hats in the industry. After working under the legendary Chef Georges Perrier at Brasserie Perrier, she transitioned from the kitchen to the front of the house. After gaining experience opening several restaurants, Power became a restaurant consultant and eventually launched her own catering company, Power Events, in 2009.

Otto's Supper Club & Social wasn't always the plan. Power originally envisioned Otto's as a passion project, named after her Great Uncle Otto, who recently passed away at 104. A chance encounter with her friend and co-owner Colleen Kriebel at Kriebel's Custom Bakery in December 2023 changed everything. Kriebel, who was sadly moving on from her bakery, mentioned she was looking for someone to take over the space. Power saw the potential and leaped, transforming the bakery into her "home base" for many culinary endeavors.

The intimate 20-seat space offers more than just meals. Diners can expect educational experiences like charcuterie board-making classes and floral design workshops. Power also plans to collaborate with local makers, distilleries, and wineries to curate special events like pairing dinners.

Regular supper club dinners will be $75 per person, and classes will range from $55 and up. Advanced reservations are required to secure your spot at any of these events.

Dinners at Otto's promise to be an eclectic mix of flavors driven by Power's creativity, seasonal ingredients, and global culinary trends. Power emphasizes using local farms whenever possible, ensuring fresh, high-quality ingredients on her plates.

The name Otto holds a special significance for Power. "My Uncle Otto is the whole reason behind this concept," Power shared. She spent her summers on a 50-acre farm in upstate New York, surrounded by her uncles Otto, Freddie, and Jerry. Fresh produce from the garden formed the base of their meals, creating a sustainable and close-knit family environment.

"We had a creek and a tree house that I designed as a kid, which was my favorite part of my childhood," Power reminisced. "We ate early dinners with the produce we picked from the farm and hot dogs and popsicles, which my uncles loved immensely. My time on that farm molded who I am and the culinary professional I've become. Uncle Otto laid the foundation for what Otto's will become."

With its focus on intimate dining experiences, educational workshops, and community collaboration, Otto's Supper Club & Social promises to be a welcome addition to Eagleville's dining scene. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply looking for a unique and educational evening out, Otto's Supper Club & Social is sure to tantalize your taste buds and ignite your culinary curiosity.
