Rockwell & Rose,PENNSYLVANIA - Philadelphia’s historic Washington Square neighborhood is set to welcome a major new dining destination this fall. Rockwell & Rose, a new steakhouse and seafood concept from the owners of the acclaimed P.J. Clarke's, will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at The Curtis Center. The restaurant aims to be a reimagined steakhouse, blending elevated dining with a warm, hospitable atmosphere.

The Concept and Menu

Rockwell & Rose is positioned to be a departure from the traditional steakhouse. Instead of dark tones and formal service, the restaurant will feature a softer, more colorful design palette with rose and gold accents. The vision is to create a welcoming space where guests feel like friends, whether they are celebrating a special occasion or stopping in for a weeknight meal.

The scratch kitchen, led by Director of Culinary Taylor Weldon, will focus on high-quality, seasonal, and local ingredients. The menu will feature:

  • Exceptional cuts of prime steak.
  • A nightly staffed raw bar with live oyster shucking.
  • Giant, build-your-own seafood towers.
  • Homemade pastas, including a Pear and Gorgonzola Fiocchette.
  • A creative dessert menu designed to be a highlight of the meal.
  • A unique bar menu with smaller delicacies.

The bar program will offer classic cocktails (the "Rockwell" selection) and creative, floral-inspired libations (the "Rose" selection), alongside a vast wine list and local beers on tap. An epic happy hour, offered Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, is also planned.

A Name Rich with History

The name Rockwell & Rose is a tribute to its historic location and personal legacy. "Rockwell" honors the Curtis Center's history as the home of Curtis Publishing, which produced Norman Rockwell's iconic covers for The Saturday Evening Post. "Rose" is a multi-layered nod to Rosie the Riveter, the restaurant's warm color palette, and a personal tribute to owner Phil Scotti’s mother, Rose Scotti, marking a heartfelt homecoming for the Philadelphia-area native.

Rockwell & Rose will be located at The Curtis, 601 Walnut Street, directly across from Washington Square Park, and will begin by offering dinner service five nights a week
