Philadelphia Celebrates Immigrant Heritage Month

Philadelphia, PA - In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month, the City’s Department of Commerce is working with immigrant-owned restaurants on Passport PHL, an initiative designed to encourage residents to explore the city’s diverse neighborhoods and businesses. The third iteration of Passport PHL, which runs June 1-30, 2018, will take place in the Oxford Circle neighborhood.

Philadelphia Clears Two Opioid Tent Camps in Kensington

Philadelphia, PA - The City of Philadelphia announced the completion of a pilot encampment action plan for the Kensington area as part of the City’s latest efforts in combating the opioid crisis in Philadelphia. The 30-day pilot targeted Tulip Street and Kensington Avenue encampments that were adjacent to residential neighborhoods and posed a health and safety threat to those who stay there as well as to the neighbors.

The store joins over two dozen similar medical marijuana dispensaries which have popped up ever since Pennsylvania legalized medicinal cannabis.

Philadelphia saw a 5 percent year-over-year increase in one-way U-Haul truck arrivals in 2017 to remain one of the top 10 busiest cities for incoming traffic among do-it-yourself movers.
