What Was Pennsylvania's Original Capital?

PENNSYLVANIA - While Harrisburg is currently recognized as the capital of Pennsylvania, the state's original seat of government was located elsewhere. In fact, Pennsylvania's capital has moved several times throughout its history, reflecting the region's evolving political and social landscape.

PENNSYLVANIA - Thomas Mifflin, a prominent figure in American history, was the first governor of Pennsylvania under the state's 1790 Constitution.  His tenure as governor, which spanned three terms from 1790 to 1799, was marked by his dedication to public service, his unwavering patriotism, and his commitment to upholding the principles of the newly formed United States.
