Philly Street Named After Boyz II Men R&B Group

PhillyBite10Philadelphia, PA - Members of the original R&B Group Boyz II Men: Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman were on hand to help unveil the renaming of Broad Street, from Christian to Carpenter Streets, to Boyz II Men Boulevard. The newly named street is a section of Broad Street located near The Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA), where Boyz II Men was formed in 1990.

Present for the announcement cerimoney was Philadelphia Councilman Kenyatta Johnson who called the group an inspiration for the whole city and a true rags to riches story. Members of the group unvailed the new street sign in front of their Alma Matter the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and the CAPA choir /band performed during the dedication

Boyz II Men is the bestselling R&B group of all time, have sold more than 60 million albums worldwide. Their singles “End of the Road,” “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye” and “I’ll Make Love to You” were chart blockbusters. In 2012, they were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame; their new album “Twenty” went to No. 1 on the R&B Soul Album charts.
