Mother’s Day Brunch at Baril - Sunday, May 14, 2017, 10:30 am to 3 pm Celebrate Mother’s Day at Baril, a Southern French neighborhood bistro steps from Rittenhouse Square. Chef de Cuisine Ken Wallace’s kitchen turns out an array of the sweet and savory with a touch of whimsy. The fresh berry stuffed funnel cake French toast and blueberry pancakes, both served with maple butter, fresh berries, syrup, and whipped cream will satiate any sweet tooth. Croque madame mille feuille, a traditional French bistro dish similar to a sandwich made with country ham and gruyere on brioche topped with a cheesy sauce mornay and a fried egg, and the poached eggs garnished with hollandaise and served with applewood smoked bacon, whole grain mustard, and toasted brioche are just a few of the tempting savories.
