Philadelphia, PA Ocean Prime - On a lovely Wednesday night just off the bustle of the busy streets of Philadelphia, we were guests to a pinnacle of opulent fine dining. Ocean Prime, a classic and yet modern interior makes this restaurant a definite must see.
The menu, freshness, and quality of the food make it a definite must taste. Our lovely host escorted us to the upper level where we could peer down and see the dining hall and glass wall behind the bar that was illuminated warmly. A few steps more and we were introduced to the Executive Chef Jenn Grosskruger who is celebrating her fourth year here in Philadelphia. Jenn’s knowledge and experience can be enjoyed with every wonderful bite of her decadent creations. Let’s sample some.
The Point Judith Calamari - These perfectly breaded, tender pieces with sweet chili and Thai chili sauce gave a sweet and zesty hint to keep your senses occupied with wonderment.
Vegetable Roll - A very light answer with its avocado, mango, and crispy asparagus. These wonderful little rolls will disappear if you are not looking. The friend you dine with would definitely be the culprit.
As for what to drink
Whiskey Clover -This intriguing mix of Gentleman Jack and Hennessy with honey water lemon and orange is an impeccable balance to be discovered on your next visit.
For something a little less exquisite and bit more robust, Chef Jenn brought us something from the Lounge Menu.
The Beef Slider - This home run of a slider, on its brioche bun, will warm your heart and relax your soul. Yes. They are that good.
