It's not an E-ZPass, but a "Crabfries" Pass for thousands headed to the Jersey Shore this Memorial Day weekend. In what's become an annual tradition, Chickie's & Pete's, the iconic Delaware Valley restaurant group, will be picking up tolls on part of the Atlantic City Expressway for holiday shore travelers.
For the fourth year in a row Chickie's & Pete's, home to world-famous Crabfries, will celebrate the kick-off to summer with Free Toll Friday at The Atlantic City Expressway's Egg Harbor Toll Plaza, at the peak traveling time of 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, May 26th .

"We're picking up the tolls for these families to celebrate summer and to thank them for their support all year long, said Chickie's & Pete's founder and CEO, Pete Ciarrocchi. "Everyone gets a 'Crabfries Pass' – so the tolls are on us!"
The Free Tolls between 5pm and 6pm at Egg Harbor are only part of the Chickie's & Pete's Free Toll Friday fun according to Pete Ciarrocchi. "We want all travelers to join us at the Farley Plaza. The Crabfries Express will be on hand with free Crabfries and Herr's will have free samples of Chickie's & Pete's Crabfries Potato Chips. There will be lot of entertainment including radio personalities and more. We also partnered with the Veterans Multi-Service Center of Philadelphia who will bring in their Touch-A-Truck exhibit." The Touch-A-Truck exhibit allows children the opportunity to experience military vehicles and fire trucks up close. The Coca-Cola Monster Truck, Fire Trucks from the Atlantic City Fire Department as well as EMT and Rescue Vehicles will also be on hand. There will also be Magic and Ventriloquism, face painting and free samples of Hershey's Ice Cream.
Chickie's & Pete's has always been very involved with Veterans groups. To say "thank-you" to the Veterans Multi-Service Center, which does a great deal of work with homeless Vets, Chickie's & Pete's will donate $1,000.00 to the Center. "It's important that we remember what Memorial Day Weekend is all about; honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military."
Chickie's & Pete's is also celebrating their 2nd annual "Summer of Shellfish." The Summer of Shellfish features a special menu with a different shellfish offering each day this summer at eleven of their locations across the Delaware Valley and the Jersey Shore, now through early September.
