PhillyBite10PHILADELPHIA, PA - When visitors pass through the historic ironwork gates of the Philadelphia Zoo, they are entering more than just a wildlife park—they are stepping into a meticulously curated botanical landscape. With over 1,500 trees, 500 plant species, and 40 distinct garden beds, the Zoo is launching new ways for guests to connect with nature this spring.

New Limited-Time Garden Tours

For the first time, the Zoo is offering semi-private, guided garden tours to celebrate the season. Running from April 18 through May 31, these hour-long walking tours are led by knowledgeable docents who will dive deep into the horticulture, history, and habitats that make the historic campus unique.

The tours provide a rich look at how the beautifully landscaped gardens support birds, pollinators, and the Zoo's 1,900 resident animals.

Tour Schedule:

  • Saturdays at 11:30 AM and Tuesdays at 10:00 AM, from April 18 to May 31, are when you can join these guided garden tours.
  • Tuesdays (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM): April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 26

Tickets are an additional $8 to $10 per person, in addition to standard Zoo admission or membership. Guests must check in at Guest Services 15 minutes before the start time.
