PhillyBite10PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia is gearing up for one of the nation's largest and most vibrant celebrations of Black LGBTQ+ culture. In alignment with the city's broader America 250 festivities, Philly Black Pride is back for its 27th anniversary—and this year, the celebration has expanded to an entire week, running from April 20 to April 26, 2026.

Operating under the theme "250 Reasons to Celebrate Black LGBTQ+ Changemakers," the 2026 festival honors the individuals across the Greater Philadelphia Region who are actively shaping culture, advocacy, and community across generations.

A Movement Rooted in Legacy and Radical Joy

Born from the legacy of the Colors Organization, Philly Black Pride has spent nearly three decades creating essential spaces where culture, identity, and community intersect.

"Philly Black Pride is more than a celebration, it's a movement rooted in legacy, resistance, and radical joy," says Jacen Bowman, President of Philly Black Pride. "As we step into our 27th year, we are honoring 250 Black LGBTQ+ Changemakers who are shaping our future in real time. This is about visibility, yes, but it's also about power, ownership, and making sure our stories are told by us, for us."
