NEW JERSEY - Wawa has initiated a recall for a select group of its 16-ounce (pint) bottled beverages due to the potential presence of an undeclared milk allergen.
This issue stemmed from a temporary equipment malfunction during the manufacturing process that may have introduced milk into the drinks. Fortunately, Wawa has already identified and corrected the equipment issue, and no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. However, individuals with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity run the risk of a serious allergic reaction if they consume these products.
Which Drinks Are Recalled?
The recall impacts a limited number of Wawa stores located in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia.
Check your fridge for the following 16-ounce pint bottles:
- Wawa Iced Tea Lemon
- Wawa Iced Tea Diet Lemon
- Wawa Diet Lemonade
- Wawa Fruit Punch
What You Should Do
If you have any of these specific bottles in your home, Wawa urges you to take the following steps:
- Dispose of them immediately: Do not drink them, especially if you or anyone in your household has a milk allergy. Throw the bottles away.
- Get a refund: You can request a refund, which will be issued in the form of a Wawa Gift Card. Reach out to Wawa's 24-hour Customer Contact Center for any questions or to process your refund request.
