PhillyBite10PHILADELPHIA - Navigating Philadelphia's sprawling arts and culture scene can sometimes feel like a full-time job. With hundreds of venues, pop-up galleries, and local theaters scattered across the region, keeping track of what's happening has historically required checking dozens of different websites.

To solve this, Visit Philadelphia has officially launched the Philly Arts Event Finder, a centralized, free digital directory hosted on visitphilly.com. The tool aggregates programming from more than 180 local venues and organizations, creating a one-stop shop for discovering live music, theater, comedy, dance, and festivals across Greater Philadelphia.

Powered by AI, Curated by Locals

Developed in partnership with Philadelphia-based tech company OmbuLabs.ai, the tool utilizes AI to gather and organize event data from across the region seamlessly. However, it isn't entirely left to the algorithms.

  • Natural-Language Search: Users can ditch rigid drop-down menus and type what they are looking for in their own words.
  • Human Oversight: Visit Philadelphia staff actively edit entries, input missing events, and field feedback to ensure accuracy and diverse representation.

"Whether you have a free night, are looking for something to do with your kids, or simply want to try something new, the Arts Event Finder gives you one place to start," said Dan Wisniewski, vice president of web at Visit Philadelphia.

Born from Community Research

The initiative is the direct result of qualitative research Visit Philadelphia commissioned in 2025. Led by the Philly Leadership Lab and Luzi Media, the study included interviews with more than 50 independent artists and creative entrepreneurs. The overwhelming consensus? The city needed a unified way to make cross-disciplinary arts programming easier for audiences to discover.

Building a Cultural Ecosystem

Currently launching as a pilot program, the Arts Event Finder will continually evolve based on user habits and community feedback.

This launch builds on a broader push to make the city's arts scene more accessible. It follows the successful 2024 rollout of TKTS Philadelphia at the Independence Visitor Center, which brought discounted performing arts tickets to a wider audience.

City of Philadelphia Chief Cultural Officer Valerie Gay praised the launch, noting, "It takes all of us working together to make sure people can find and experience the extraordinary creativity that exists throughout our city."

Residents and visitors can start exploring the new tool at visitphilly.com/arts-event-finder/.
