South Philly's Iconic 100-Year-Old Italian Festival Returns This OctoberPHILADELPHIA - One of South Philadelphia’s most beloved and historic traditions is set to return bigger and better than ever. The Annual St. Nicholas of Tolentine Authentic Italian Festival will take over the 1700 block of South 9th Street on Sunday, October 5th, from noon to 8:00 PM. This massive, free-to-attend street festival brings thousands of people to the heart of South Philly for a full day celebrating Italian food, music, culture, and family fun.


A Feast for the Senses

The festival is a true culinary showcase, featuring a host of renowned local vendors. Attendees can look forward to authentic Italian delicacies from favorites like The Kitchen Consigliere, Marra's Pizza, and Termini Bros Bakery. The menu will be packed with everything from meatball and porchetta sandwiches to arancini, pizza, and a full pasta station.

All-Day Entertainment and Family Fun

The festival boasts a packed schedule of live entertainment for all ages. The day kicks off at noon with a traditional religious procession of saintly statues, a hallmark of the event's deep cultural roots. Throughout the day, the stage will feature a diverse lineup, including performances by the Quaker City String Band, The Vivaci Dancers, and the Elegance String Quartet. The celebration will be capped off with a high-energy "Sound of Philadelphia Dance Party" from the City Rhythm Orchestra.



For the younger attendees, the festival will offer a variety of rides, games, face painting, and sand art, making it a perfect day out for the entire family.


With its vibrant atmosphere and a tradition stretching back over a century, the St. Nicholas Italian Festival remains one of the most cherished and authentic cultural celebrations in Philadelphia.
