PHILADELPHIA - Chef Jose Garces’ iconic Old City tapas restaurant, Amada, is celebrating a significant milestone: 20 years of serving authentic Spanish cuisine to Philadelphia. To mark the occasion, the restaurant is hosting a week of celebrations packed with special events and the return of a fan-favorite dish.
A Celebration of 20 Years
On Saturday, October 18th, the highly requested Lobster Paella makes its limited-time return to the menu. As a special commemorative gift, every guest who orders the paella will receive a complimentary branded wooden paella spoon to take home.
The celebration continues on Sunday, October 19th, with an evening of entertainment featuring a live flamenco performance and a traditional pig carving in the dining room, bringing the vibrant culture of Spain to the heart of Old City.
The Next Chapter: Chicago
The 20th anniversary also marks the beginning of a new era for the beloved restaurant. Chef Garces has announced that Amada is expanding to a new city: Chicago.
This expansion is a homecoming for the celebrated chef, who grew up in the Windy City. The new location is slated to open in early 2026, bringing Amada's signature Spanish flavors to a new audience and marking a significant next step for the Garces group.
