PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia's largest summer neighborhood festival is returning to Northern Liberties, inviting residents, families, and visitors to join an inclusive celebration that fosters community spirit. On Sunday, August 2, 2026, the Northern Liberties Arts and Commerce Alliance will host the 16th Annual 2nd Street Festival.
Running from noon to ten in the evening, the event transforms a fourteen-block stretch of North 2nd Street, spanning from Spring Garden all the way to Girard Avenue, into a massive, family-friendly street fair. This year's event holds special significance as it includes a nod to America's 250th birthday, adding a patriotic flair to the ten-hour non-stop celebration. Admission is completely free, making it easy for everyone to join in the fun. Food and beverages are available on a pay-as-you-go basis, and well-behaved, leashed dogs are highly encouraged to join the community fun.
Culinary Delights and Beer Gardens: Food lovers will be eager to explore the festival's diverse culinary scene, featuring over 50 restaurants, bars, breweries, and food trucks. Attendees can enjoy refreshing summer drinks and craft cocktails at 10 outdoor beer gardens hosted by neighborhood staples like Standard Tap, North Bowl, El Camino Real, and Cantina Dos Segundos. With twenty-five mobile vendors and food trucks offering savory and sweet treats from regional favorites like Cousins Maine Lobster, Fishtown Pickle Project, Humpty's Dumplings, and Mom-Mom's Polish Food Cart, the variety promises a delightful experience. Brick-and-mortar restaurants such as Piazza Alta, Circles Thai, and Nourish will also serve special menus outside their doors, adding to the excitement of culinary discovery.
Live Music on Two Main Stages Music has always been the foundation of the 2nd Street Festival, and the 2026 lineup continues this proud tradition. Two main stages will provide the soundtrack for the day, featuring a diverse array of Philadelphia's favorite local bands and musicians. The Germantown Stage, located at 2nd and Germantown, will kick things off at noon with Todd Fausnacht and His Band, followed by hourly performances from artists including Daphne Ellen, The Size, Feaster, and Max Swan, culminating with a closing set by Moonroof at eight o'clock in the evening. Meanwhile, the Fairmount Stage at 2nd and Fairmount will host incredible talent starting at a quarter past noon with Jimmy Everhart. The Fairmount stage will keep the energy high throughout the afternoon and evening with acts like Canyon Flower, Sophie Coran, Big Club, and a highly anticipated finale by St. James and The Apostles.
Artisan Shopping and Family Entertainment Beyond the food and music, the festival is a massive showcase for local artists, makers, and small businesses. Beloved retailer Art Star returns to curate the six hundred block of North 2nd Street, bringing together dozens of high-end, hyper-local artisans selling everything from handmade ceramics and stained glass to custom apparel and polymer clay jewelry. An additional hundred makers will be set up throughout the rest of the festival footprint, ensuring you will not leave empty-handed. Families bringing children will find endless entertainment at The Piazza, which will feature a splash zone, a playground, and complimentary face painting. Roaming entertainment, including stilt walkers from 7textures and a special late-afternoon performance by the West Powelton Drumline, the official drumline of the 76ers, will keep the energy electric until the sun goes down.
