Philadelphia, PADilworth Park Winter Fun Through The End of February - The holiday season may be over and yet the winter season events carry on at Dilworth Park right up until the end of February, offering new programming for children and adults to usher in the new year at the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin and the return of “Free in February” presented by Capital One.


 

The Rothman Orthopaedics Rink is going to be open every day all the way through the end of February. Admission is $3 for children 10 and younger, and $5 for adults; skate rental is $10 per person. Temple University staff and students enjoy $1 off entry with the presentation of their Temple University ID.

NEW for 2019:
  • Tuesdays, January 8 – February 5: Learn to Skate. Five weeks of 30-minute sessions taught by professional instructors. Classes for everyone from tots to adults; times and prices at dilworthpark.com.
  • Tuesdays, January 8 – February 19, noon: Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics. Get to work on those resolutions with FREE weekly ice skating workouts led by professional trainers.
  • Saturday, January 19, 2-4 p.m.: Superhero Skate. Kids can take to the ice dressed up as their favorite superhero, while costumed characters make the rounds and Temple University students distribute free superhero capes emblazoned with the Temple “T” logo.
  • Friday, February 8, 7-10 p.m.: Disco Skate. Live music features the hits of the ’70s and prizes will go to the grooviest get-up.
  • Thursday, February 14: Sweetheart Skate. Buy one admission and get one free for a special Valentine’s Day on ice.
  • Every day: Sled Skating, sponsored by Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. Adults and children with disabilities can reserve a sled throughout January and February. Details at dilworthpark.com.

  • Saturday 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.

  • Presidents Day, February 18 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

For the second year, Capital One partners with the rink for the return of its popular “Free in February” promotion. During the month of February, visitors to the Capital One Café at 135 S. 17th St. will receive a free skating admission pass to the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink. (Skate rental not included.)

The Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin is a cozy spot for adults and kids to warm up and relax with food and drinks from the Brûlée Catering seasonal menu. Cocktails featuring Maker’s Mark bourbon, local craft beers from Victory Brewing Company and Troegs, and Stella Artois are available for visitors 21 and over. NEW for 2019:
  • Fridays 7-10 p.m., January 11 – February 22: Karaoke Nights powered by Live Nation. Singing, snacks, and libations, timed for unwinding at the end of the workweek.
  • Saturdays, February 2 & 9, 11 a.m.: Story Time with Marty the Moose. The pun-ny storyteller stops by from The Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University to read his favorite stories to youngsters. A special menu of kid-friendly snacks and warm drinks will be available for purchase.
Ongoing events that will continue into February include:
  • Thursdays through February 21, 5-9 p.m.: College Nights. Admission is $2 for college students with student ID. (Skate rental not included. Discount not applicable in conjunction with other offers.)
  • Wednesdays through February 20, 5-7 p.m.: Cocktails and Cold Ones presented by The Met Philadelphia with specially priced EFFEN Vodka cocktails, Bud Light on draft and a selection of wines, plus weekly ticket giveaways from The Met, the historic former Metropolitan Opera House now open on North Broad Street.
  • Tuesdays through February 19, 6-8 p.m.: Quizzo presented by The Franklin Institute and hosted by Johnny Goodtimes. Features drink specials and prizes each week including free tickets for Quizzo winners to Vikings: Beyond the Legend at The Franklin Institute through March 3.
