Philadelphia, PAJames Beard 2020 - The James Beard Foundation and VisitPhilly.Com have created a unique partnership aimed at joining the culinary and tourism industries together to encourage visitors to support the city's diverse culinary options.

Liberty Bell 2Their collaboration is going to link up travelers to some of the region's award-winning chefs who make the greater Philadelphia region a desired destination for food lovers around the world. Adopting the Foundation’s motto of “Good Food for Good,” VISIT PHILADELPHIA intends to encourage those passionate about food to choose Philadelphia as their next culinary adventure.

The New Collaboration Includes:
  • James Beard House Chef Takeovers: A four-night Philly chef takeover at New York City’s James Beard House on January 29, January 30, April 21, as well as June 11, 2020, highlighting Philadelphia’s award-winning culinary experts.
  • 2020 James Beard Foundation Awards Nominee Announcement: On March 25, 2020, at the Barnes Foundation in partnership with Constellation Culinary Group
  • The James Beard Foundation’s Taste America: Philadelphia Pop-Up Dinner: April 14, 2020, offering guests a James Beard House encounter at Philadelphia’s Spice Finch through an intimate sit down dinner highlighting Spice Finch chefs Jennifer Carroll and Billy Riddle.
  • Brand-New James Beard Restaurant Collective: A week-long series of events open to the general public, and showcasing the city’s top culinary talents in August 2020; through a collaboration with Center City District

The partnership will formally expand the partnership between VISIT PHILADELPHIA and the James Beard Foundation.
