Run up the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum and be Rocky Balboa, the underdog boxing character portrayed by actor Sylvester Stallone in Rocky. Visiting The Rocky Statue and Rocky Steps is a trendy thing to do among tourists visiting Philly. And, admission to the Museum is reasonable on the weekdays, but on Sundays it's free. Plus, you can strike a pose and snap a photo beside the bronze Rocky statue at the base for a quick souvenir shot.

Explore the history of the county at close range in America's Cradle of Liberty. Philadelphia happens to be where the modern United States was formed after signing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.



Must-see tourist sites in Philly are Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and admission to both is free. First, investigate the crack on the bell for yourself. Then, get a timed tour ticket and join a guided tour by a National Park Service Ranger of Independence Hall directly across the street.

Eat American. Food is inevitably a part of a people's culture and trying out local offerings is a great tourist activity in Philadelphia. Tourists must not miss devouring while in Philly because of its famous, gooey, greasy cheesesteak.



Next, head to Reading Terminal Market for a bit of lunch. Make sure to check out "By George," the winner of the 2nd Annual Cheesesteak Madness 2021, serves you up a winning cheesesteak for just a few bucks. You will not get to taste this anywhere else for a genuinely Philly bite into Americana.

After lunch, take a walk in Chinatown Philadelphia. This bustling section of Philly is definitely part of its multicultural makeup and an excellent place for lunch or dinner, with many inexpensive options.

Philly's Chinatown is not only Chinese-flavored. It is a taste of the East right in the West. You also have options of Japanese, Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese restaurants here. And the market stalls are filled with goodies and souvenirs that sell for even under a dollar.

What's a historical city without its share of morbid collections? For a unique experience, visit the Mitter Museum. Located at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, this weird museum host an exhibition of skulls labeled with names, occupations, and dates of death of the once-living, along with a collection of intestines and other human biomaterials and bizarre medical instruments for the morbidly curious.

Philly is just not about learning about its culture and history, though. Philadelphia is a diverse city with a very vibrant urban life. Take in some shopping and go out for a drink at night, you will find Philly to be a very lively city with plenty to do on a budget.
