PHILADELPHIA (PhillyBite.com) — Philly firefighters battle a large blaze at a downtown bar and restaurant undergoing construction in Center City, forcing hundreds of local residents from their homes and apartments.

The Fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, inside the two-story building at 13th and Chancellor Streets and quickly grew to three alarms. Their is no word yet on the name of the establishment or word from the owner. “Little explosions started happening,” a neighbor was quoted as saying. “The fire just grew so fast. It was huge within minutes.”
