Philadelphia, PA - Realtors Michelle Leonard and Dana Friedman attended the Black Tie and Sneaker Masquerade Ball at Live! Casino and Hotel to benefit the Trauma Survivors Foundation. My two favorite chefs were James Beard winners Chef Tonii Hicks and Càphê Roasters' Chef Jacob Trinh.
Tonii made a great salt and pepper shrimp tostadas dish, and Jacob, who specializes in Vietnamese, Chinese, and American flavors, made a delicious purple sticky rice with sausage and a shitake mushroom dish. The future is bright for these uberly talented chefs. The Philadelphia region is lucky to have them.
During dinner, Kristen & The Noise, a five-piece band from the greater Philadelphia region, played the best dance songs that got everyone up. Stage performer Kristen Kwolek fronts this electric and entertaining group.
Dana Friedman, who looked terrific from head to toe, is also a super fun dance partner who knew all the songs' words and had all the moves on the dance floor. East Passyunk’s Kouklet Brazilian Bakehouse, which specializes in Brazilian baked goods, created adorable P-shaped churro-type cookies as a nod to the Phightin Phillies.
The Phillies World Series game was on super large screens throughout the ballroom. Even though everyone in Philly was hoping to win the championship, I am grateful. I appreciate the positive energy and spirit that has united Philadelphia sports fans from the Phillies' exciting season.
