Banksy Was HerePhiladelphia, PA - 'Banksy Was Here: The Exhibition' is a celebration of the world-famous street artist Banksy and will open to the public in Philadelphia's Fashion District on Saturday, December 3. It will feature a multi-sensory immersive installation, a virtual reality experience, and more than 80 authentic Banksy pieces.

The "Banksy Was Here" exhibit features original works by street artists and other artists. It includes original artifacts, sculptures, and performance pieces. These pieces are paired with videos and paintings provided by private collectors. It also includes an 11-minute animation. Guests can explore the life and career of the artist via an interactive virtual reality experience.

The Banksy exhibit is open to the public through January 31, 2023. The Philadelphia exhibition is sponsored by the Lenore G. Tawney Foundation, the Contemporary Art Committee, the Women's Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, and the Davenport Family Foundation. The exhibition is not for children and is not recommended for those with sensory issues.

Banksy was born in Bristol, England, and began his career as a freehand graffiti artist in the 1990s. He became known for his anti-authoritarian, political, and anti-establishment artworks. He is considered one of the most famous street artists of all time. His works have gained worldwide attention and are valued for their social and political statements. The works are also valued for their high real estate prices.

The Banksy exhibit has already toured fifteen cities. It includes eighty genuine Banksy pieces from private collections. The exhibit will be held at the Philadelphia Fashion District through January 31, 2023.
