Fishtown Taps: How a Weekly Happy Hour is Boosting Business and Community Spirit PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 29, 2025) – Fishtown Taps, the popular Tuesday happy hour event, has returned for its third and most expansive season yet, highlighting the Fishtown District's commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering a vibrant neighborhood atmosphere. Running weekly through October, the initiative unites over 26 diverse bars, restaurants, and eateries, driving valuable foot traffic and economic activity during typically slower weekday periods. The concept is simple yet effective: participating establishments offer attractive deals – typically $5 beers, $6 wines, $7 signature cocktails, and discounted food – every Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This encourages both locals and visitors to explore the wide array of venues Fishtown has to offer, from established favorites to exciting newcomers. "We have been hosting Fishtown Taps to draw more people to Fishtown and Kensington during the week and showcase our thriving food and drink scene," explained Marc Collazzo, Fishtown District Executive Director. He noted the program's previous success, which led to its extension into the fall for 2025 and a record number of participants. "With the lure of specialty cocktails, beer, and wine, the streets come alive with new energy, fresh faces, and increased foot traffic. It is a win-win for the district, our businesses and the consumer." Collazzo added, "This initiative doesn’t just benefit the participating bars and restaurants—it supports our entire community, from retail shops to local services.” The Fishtown District, a Business Improvement District (BID), utilizes funds collected from property assessments to reinvest in the community through public safety, marketing, operations, and beautification projects. Events like Fishtown Taps are a key part of their strategy to promote the neighborhood and support its economic vitality. Partnering with the local discovery app FYND further helps to disseminate information about weekly specials and participating businesses. By creating a consistent and appealing weekly event, Fishtown Taps not only offers great deals for consumers but also strengthens the fabric of the neighborhood, encouraging patronage of local establishments and highlighting the collective strength of Fishtown's dynamic hospitality scene.PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 29, 2025)Fishtown Taps, the popular Tuesday happy hour event, has returned for its third and most expansive season yet, highlighting the Fishtown District's commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering a vibrant neighborhood atmosphere.
