Wawa Opens First Store in Indiana StateDALEVILLE, IN – The much-anticipated arrival of Wawa in the Hoosier State became a reality last week, as the beloved convenience retailer officially opened its first-ever Indiana store on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Located at 16100 W Commerce Rd in Daleville, Delaware County, the grand opening marks a historic milestone in Wawa's ongoing expansion into the Midwest, bringing its unique blend of fresh food, signature beverages, fuel services, and community focus to Indiana residents.

Ahead of the official opening, Wawa hosted a special "Taste of Wawa" preview event for local friends and neighbors who had shared their favorite Wawa memories, offering an early glimpse of the offerings and atmosphere.

The new Daleville store is just the beginning for Wawa in Indiana. The company has ambitious plans, with up to 10 Wawa stores slated to open across Indiana by the end of 2025. Looking further ahead, Wawa plans to build and open 8-12 stores per year in the state, with a long-term vision of up to 60 stores. Each new store represents a significant investment of more than $7.5 million and is expected to employ, on average, 140 contractors and local partners during construction, and 35 associates once operational. This expansion is projected to create approximately 2,000 new, long-term jobs in Indiana.

"We are excited to fly into Indiana and bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience and service to this state for the very first time," said Brian Schaller, President of Wawa. "This historic milestone continues our ongoing growth and expansion in the Midwest as we continue to build new stores and create new jobs. We are also thrilled about extending our support to several community partnerships made on opening day!”

Wawa is actively hiring for its upcoming Indiana locations, inviting candidates to "Soar with Wawa" by exploring opportunities at www.wawa.com/careers. The company highlights its employee-centric culture, noting that Wawa is almost 39% owned by its associates through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and offers training, development, and educational assistance.

The Daleville Wawa now offers local residents and travelers access to its award-winning fresh food options, including built-to-order hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, specialty beverages, and a wide array of convenience items, alongside fuel services. This first Indiana store sets the stage for Wawa's broader commitment to serving communities across the state.
