MEDIA, PA — Navigating the bustling streets of Media during its signature summer event just got easier for cyclists, with a free bike valet service that promotes eco-friendly transport and community engagement. A coalition of community organizations has announced its return for the popular "Dining Under the Stars" series.
Spearheaded by the Media Fair Trade Town Committee, Transition Town Greater Media (TTGM), and Bike DelCo, the free valet tent provides a secure spot for attendees to park their bicycles and scooters while they enjoy the evening. This service is a perfect solution for visitors, especially since bicycles and scooters are prohibited within the pedestrian-only dining zone on State Street after 5:00 PM.
Skip the Search for Parking
Every Wednesday evening from May through September, State Street transforms into a massive al fresco dining experience. Organizers are encouraging residents and visitors to leave their "gas guzzlers" at home. Riding a bike to town helps visitors skip the frustrating 20-minute hunt for a parking spot, avoiding parking fees and the risk of a parking ticket—though organizers jokingly note they aren't actually trying to deprive the borough's coffers of parking revenue!
The valet tent is conveniently located at the intersection of State Street and Jackson Street, right near the live music tent. Volunteers will watch over the bikes and scooters so attendees can freely stroll and dine with peace of mind.
