KING OF PRUSSIA - One of the Philadelphia region's most enduring names in music is officially expanding its footprint. On October 1, 2026, Cunningham Piano Company will open the doors to an expansive new 15,000-square-foot facility at 450 S. Henderson Road in King of Prussia.
Bringing piano sales, restoration, music education, innovative technology, and live performance together under one roof, the new King of Prussia piano showroom is designed to reimagine the traditional instrument retail experience.
The Yamaha Experience Room and Modern Technology
The new facility will house an extraordinary inventory of 200 to 300 pianos, ranging from traditional acoustic instruments to some of the most technologically advanced models available today.
At the heart of the new location is the Yamaha Experience Room, an immersive, hands-on space where musicians can explore how cutting-edge technology is transforming the way pianos are played, experienced, and enjoyed.
"The Yamaha Experience Room is really about experiencing what the future of the piano can be," said Tim Oliver, co-owner of Cunningham Piano Company. "Guests will be able to experience Yamaha’s remarkable Disklavier, which combines the artistry and craftsmanship of an acoustic piano with advanced reproducing and digital technology, alongside the latest Clavinova digital pianos. Our goal isn't to create 19th-century musicians; it’s to usher in 21st-century musicians by giving them access to the instruments, technology, and experiences that are shaping the future of music."
A New Hub for Live Performance and Education
A major centerpiece of the company's vision is the new dedicated performance space, which will allow Cunningham to host concerts, recitals, master classes, and community events.
To celebrate the opening, the company will host a Grand Opening Concert on Friday, November 6, 2026. The event will feature a special performance by acclaimed Philadelphia-native pianist Eric Wortham, who is widely known for his extensive touring work with global superstar Adele. Wortham, who actually grew up practicing at Cunningham's former Germantown location, will give guests the chance to experience the new performance center as intended.
Following the grand opening, the venue will continue to host monthly First Fridays Concerts through May.
Additionally, music education remains a core component of the new facility. The building features five private instruction rooms where students of all ages can participate in piano, strings, or voice lessons.
Continuing a 130-Year Legacy
The new location represents a significant consolidation and expansion for a company whose roots date back to 1891. The King of Prussia site combines the operations of its previous retail store and the historic Germantown restoration factory that closed earlier in 2026.
With a team of 15 technicians, instructors, and sales associates, Cunningham will continue the piano restoration that Philadelphia residents have relied upon for decades, preserving and renewing instruments that carry generations of musical history.
"We want people to walk through the doors even if they aren't currently shopping for a piano," added co-owner Rich Galassini. “Come hear an artist perform. Bring a child to experience live music. Learn about how a piano is restored. Meet other musicians. We want Cunningham Piano Company to be a gathering place for the region's music community."
The new location at 450 S. Henderson Road is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM, Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 PM, and Monday by appointment only.
