PhillyBite10PHILADELPHIA - One of South Philadelphia's most electrifying art destinations is throwing a final farewell party for the 2026 season. After spending the summer bringing the community together, Nice Things Handmade and the Percy Street Project have announced the fall finale of First Fridays on Percy Street.

First Fridays on Percy Street Holds Fall Finale in South Philly's "Electric Alley's"

Taking place this Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the 1300 block of S. Percy Street in the heart of Passyunk Square, this illuminated hidden gem will transform into a glowing, open-air arts celebration.

The family-friendly (and Fido-friendly) community event is completely free to attend. It will feature live music, live painting, and more than 40 local vendors set up beneath the Alley's's's famous neon lights.

The Legacy of Electric Street

This First Friday series unfolds on a block already famous for its incredible transformation. Percy Street is home to "Electric Street," a vibrant neon light installation created by artists David Guinn and Drew Billiau in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Knight Foundation.

The project famously turned a once-overlooked and troubled Alley's's into one of the city's most distinctive and safest public art spaces. Guinn remains the driving force behind the Alleys, maintaining it alongside other artists and dedicated community members.

"Percy Street has always been about neighbors coming together and rallying to make something beautiful and joyful out of an overlooked corner of the city," said Elissa Kara, owner and founder of the South Philly boutique Nice Things Handmade. "First Fridays is the next chapter to activate a place where artists of every medium have somewhere to show their work. We want to bring the community together in an all-new way and create a new South Philly summer tradition."

Food, Music, and Live Painting

The October finale is pulling out all the stops to give the neighborhood a memorable send-off for the year.

Grilling and Chilling: Beloved Philadelphia baker Phil Korshak is returning to the grill, serving up hot dogs and treats from his highly anticipated new concept, Korshak Parkside Provisions (coming soon to 13th and Reed). For a sweeter treat, Chilly Banana will be dishing out dairy-free, vegan banana whips with all the magical toppings. At the same time, The Underbite Bites joins the lineup with their own delicious offerings.

Live Music: Local talent will soundtrack the Alley's's from stations throughout the block. Catch Huston West playing the banjo at the Reed Street entrance, Jacob Waters performing at the 9th Street entrance, and DJ Linz and Mars spinning tracks in the middle of the block for the duration of the event.

Live Painting: Organized by RoseBear Arts, the event will feature four artists painting live on a four-sided free mural wall. Local talent, including Zach Woomer, Worldsgraytest Art, and Luke Weichmann, will add to the block's vibrant artistic legacy throughout the evening.

Shop 40+ Local Philadelphia Vendors

A major highlight of the event is the massive local maker's market. With over 40 vendors lining the alleys, guests can shop for handmade goods, art, jewelry, ceramics, and more. Featured makers for the October finale include Old City Canning Co., Murderous Jewels, The Little Sticker Shop, Night of the Living Thread, and dozens more from the city's deep roster of creative talent.
