Phillybite.com (October 1, 2015) -- Pizzeria Felici, the newest Feliz Restaurant, has opened in Horsham, PA. Brian Sirhal and business partner Chef Tim Spinner are taking a new culinary adventure - from contemporary Mexican to an Italian Pizzeria and Wine bar- with the latest Feliz Restaurant, which includes Cantina Feliz in Fort Washington, La Calaca Feliz in Fairmount and Taqueria Feliz in Manayunk.
"When we started brainstorming about a concept for the new location, one key factor was its proximity to both of our homes," said Sirhal, co-owner with Chef Spinner. "We wanted to focus on the kind of food that we like to eat and that young families like ours would enjoy. The great thing about Italian, especially pizza, is that it has nearly universal appeal making it easy to please everyone - whether you're dining with family, friends or business colleagues."
Pizzeria Felici, located in The Elements Horsham at 303 Horsham Road in suburban Philadelphia, serves Neopolitan-style pizza cooked in a double-hearthed, wood-fired oven to create gently blistered dough that features delicate outer crips with inner tenderness and tiny nooks and crannies. The menu also includes well-crafted starters/antipasti, soulfully-executed, but simple handmade pastas made with an authentic pasta machine from Italy, large seasonal salads, and generous entrees. The small but smart menu is designed to invite sharing. Chef James Burke, Food & Wine Best New Chef 2009 and former owner of James, has been consulting chef for the new restaurant, working hand-in-hand with Spinner and Executive Chef Michael Brenfleck, who is moving to Pizzeria Felici from La Calaca Feliz.
The 30-seat wine and beer bar offers a focused list of Italian wines by the glass, half carafe and bottle along with 10 draft lines, bottled and canned beer and some classic specialty cocktails. Flat screen TVs throughout the bar area create a great backdrop for guests to sip on a glass of wine or drink a beer while eating a pizza or handmade pasta and watching a game. Happy Hour runs 4:30-6:30 p.m. daily.
The Feliz Restaurants are known for colorful, vibrant decor and Pizzeria Felici is no exception. Canno Design started with traditional Italian restaurant design elements and gave them a contemporary spin. Guests will see the traditional red-and-white checkers in a distressed, varied print on the floor and mint green accents throughout the space. The main dining room is lit with modern yellow, teal and orange hanging pendants and framed by large windows with expansive views. Original accents including Italian posters covering the bar top, painted pizza peels adorned with the heads of famous Italians, and a wall of bright yellow tomato cans give the 80-seat restaurant an industrial, but fun, atmosphere ideal for business lunches, family dinners, date nights or business entertaining. Pizzeria Felici has a private dining room for 30, accented with rustic barn doors.
