The Ultimate Dog-Friendly Dock Bar
One of the best perks of Mad Viking is just how welcoming they are to four-legged guests. Finding a genuinely dog-friendly waterfront spot where you can unwind without stressing is always a win. Well-behaved pups on leashes are welcome in their designated dog-friendly seating area, making it a fantastic place to bring your dog along while you enjoy the harbor views.
The Food and Drinks
Owned by local fishermen and farmers, they really deliver on their promise of fresh seafood straight off the boat—and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality. Here's a look at what made our meal stand out:
- The Seafood Chowder: Wonderfully seasoned and packed with an impressive amount of seafood in every spoonful.
- Delaware Oysters & Quahog Stuffies: The oysters were shucked and cleaned perfectly, tasting fresh out of the water, and the quahog stuffies were a crowd-pleaser.
- The Lobster Roll: My daughter ordered the lobster roll, and they did not skimp—it was absolutely stuffed with fresh lobster meat.
- Fish & Chips: Legitimately some of the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right.
To beat the summer heat, their frozen drink lineup is a lifesaver. I ordered the Americana frozen drink, and it tasted exactly like a classic Rocket Popsicle—refreshing, nostalgic, and perfect for a hot day on the harbor!
Great Service & A Fun Vibe for the Whole Crew
Despite how popular it gets, our wait was 10 minutes at most—and that was only because we specifically requested a shaded table. Throughout the meal, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive, keeping everything moving smoothly.
Between the Norse-inspired coastal energy, the boat dockage, and the fact that kids can conquer "Thor's Playground" while the adults relax, Mad Viking is a home run for the whole family (pups included!). Highly recommend stopping here on your next trip to Cape May!
