The restaurant is located in a historical landmark, and features live music most weekends. The bar area has a large seating area, and upstairs, a whiskey bar serves small tapas-style plates of food and drinks. Josie Kelly's even has a ballroom for special events.

Dermot Lloyd and his wife Kathleen Lloyd are native Irishmen who met in North Carolina while managing pubs. The owners of Josie Kelly's have an Irish heritage and named the establishment after their grandmother, who was originally from Limerick.



They were married in North Carolina, and the pub opened on Aug. 15. The bar serves Irish-themed food and a large selection of Irish whiskey and local beers. The couple also held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Somers Point Mayor Jack Glasser.
