A New Chapter for 2015 Walnut Street
Revolution Taco officially closed on January 6, 2026, just shy of its 10th anniversary on Walnut Street. However, the closure does not mark a departure for its chef and co-owner, Carolyn Nguyen. Instead, Nguyen has renewed the lease for another 3 years to completely revamp the space and launch her newest culinary venture, slated to open in March 2026.
For the first time in her two-decade-long career as a chef in Philadelphia, Nguyen's own name will be featured on the door.
Returning to Her Roots
While Revolution Taco was celebrated for its creative, border-crossing dishes, Carolyn's Modern Vietnamese will be a focused, heartfelt homage to the chef's heritage.
