Philadelphia, PAPhiladelphia City Hall Christmas Tree - Mayor Kenney will turn on the lights of the holiday tree, a fresh 65- foot-tall, 60-year-old white fir (Abies Concolor) at City Hall officially ushering in the City’s holiday season. The north side of City Hall will magically transform into a joyful winter wonderland of entertainment, food, and family festivities.


 

The elaborate new 10-foot colorful custom stage backdrop is highlighting symbols of multicultural holiday celebrations with local landmarks created by Mural Arts Philadelphia reflecting Philly’s cultural heritage.

Philadelphia City Hall Christmas TreeThe shining star of the show is the massive tree itself. Decorations: Gold-color Liberty Bell. The Liberty Bell tree topper, more than 3 feet tall, points towards east and west; bald eagles and a banner that reads “LOVE” in multiple languages, 50 custom-designed ornaments including hand-made wooden and plastic colorful ornaments of LOVE signs; holiday balls, snowmen, stars, snowflakes, a Philadelphia history-themed “We the People,” a flying kite in honor of Benjamin Franklin, a soft pretzel and the Philly word JAWN.
