Philadelphia, PA - Double the fun with a doubleheader on Thursday, which kicks off the series against the Mets. Plus, fans are invited to the Goya Latino Family Celebration!
The Phillies will hold a single-admission doubleheader against the Mets on Thursday, August 16 (rescheduled from Saturday, May 12). Tickets purchased for August 16 are valid for both games of the doubleheader. The first game will begin at 4:05 p.m. and all gates will open at 3:05 p.m. The second game will begin 30 minutes after the end of the 4:05 p.m. game.
Before the first game, Will Power, winner of the 2018 Indianapolis 500, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Plus, it's the final Throwback Thursday of the season; Phillies players will sport 1980s era powder blue uniforms for both games and organist George Akerley will be adding organ music and flavor throughout the first game.
Additionally, Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, will once again partner with the Phillies to host the Goya Latino Family Celebration on Thursday. Highlights include:
For both games of the doubleheader, Angel Castillo, a member of the Phillies Spanish language broadcast team, will introduce the lineups in Spanish, Hector Serrano Events presents Grupo Fuego, Caliente Dancers and Salseros Unidos will perform on-field, pregame and in-game and local artists will perform at the entrance gates, including DJ Oz and DJ Loso.
Before the second game, the Phillies Goya Family Service Award, given annually to an organization or individual that has an impact in the Latino Community, will be presented to Jarida Rodriguez, a foster parent who has provided a safe and happy home for numerous children as part of Concilio's foster care program.
