Oakmont in Oakmont

Oakmont Country Club is a country club located mostly in Plum and Oakmont, which is in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. It offers a unique golf experience that is ideal for any level of player. The club has four championship courses that offer different challenges for golfers. It is also home to numerous restaurants, shops, and nightlife options. Oakmont has hosted 17 USGA championships, including the U.S. Open in 1925 and the U.S. Women's Open in 2010. Among the other notable winners are Dustin Johnson (2016 U.S. Open), Paula Creamer (2010 U.S. Women's Open), and Ernie Els (1994 U.S. Open). This course is also home to several other championships, including the U.S. Amateur and the U.S. Women's Championship.

In 1926, the club purchased a 300-acre tract of land in Newtown Square and hired Donald Ross to design its golf course. Its current clubhouse was opened on Memorial Day 1928. The Aronimink Country Club was unsuccessful in hosting the PGA Championship in 1993. The club did not have enough black members or applicants to meet the PGA's minority membership requirement. However, the club has since hosted USGA and Senior PGA events. The course will host a Women's PGA tourney in October 2020.

Fox Chapel Gold Course in Pittsburgh

Fox Chapel has a beautiful parkland layout with moderate forced carries and non-grassed areas. It is easy to walk around the course, which features a restaurant and tennis courts.
