PhillyBite10MARYLAND - Maryland is renowned for its vibrant culinary scene, and there is no better way to experience the state's famous coastal cuisine than by attending one of its many seafood festivals. From steamed crabs to fresh oysters, these festivals celebrate the rich bounty of the Chesapeake Bay. Below is a guide to some of the most anticipated seafood festivals taking place across Maryland in 2026.

Maryland Seafood Festival

The Maryland Seafood Festival takes place in Annapolis on September 12 and September 13, 2026. This beloved event has been a tradition on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay since 1966. Attendees can expect a wide array of delectable treats, including crab, oysters, shrimp, mussels, and locally caught fish prepared in various ways. In addition to the food, the festival features live music, arts and crafts, an interactive kid zone, and chef demonstrations. One of the most highly anticipated highlights of the weekend is the 33rd annual Crab Soup Cook-Off. Visitors can also enjoy walking around historic downtown Annapolis, which is located close to the United States Naval Academy.

40th Annual St. Mary's County Crab Festival

If you are looking for an early summer celebration, the 40th Annual St. Mary's County Crab Festival will be held at the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown on June 13, 2026. Running from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, this event promises an unforgettable day packed with steamed hard crabs, crab cakes, and family fun. The entertainment lineup features live music throughout the day, including a performance by The Fabulous Hubcaps starting at 12:00 PM, followed by Radio Hero until the evening. Admission is $10 for adults, while children under 12 enter free.

Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival

Also taking place in Leonardtown is the Potomac Jazz and Seafood Festival, slated for July 2026. This mid-summer gathering pairs incredible regional seafood with live musical performances, offering a relaxing, culturally rich experience along the water.

Late Summer and Fall Seafood Highlights

As the summer heats up, August 2026 brings the National Hard Crab Derby to Crisfield, alongside the popular Annapolis Crab Feast. September 2026 is an especially busy month for seafood lovers across the state. Crisfield will host the J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake, while Havre de Grace will welcome visitors to the Susquehanna Wine and Seafood Festival. For those looking for something beyond traditional crab and oysters, the Annual Lobster Festival will take place at the Charles County Fairgrounds in La Plata during September 2026.
