Hershey’s Chocolatetown, Coming to Hersheypark in 2020Philadelphia, PA - Hersheypark, Central Pa’s 121-acre amusement park in Hershey, Pennsylvania, just announced a new $150 million expansion, influenced by founder Milton S. Hershey.

Hersheypark, one of Central Pennsylvania’s best-known tourist destinations, unveiled a significant brand-new addition: Hershey’s Chocolatetown. The new extension is scheduled to open in 2020, providing guests with unique shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Allowing guest to a year-round attraction as part of the 23 acres development.

Hershey’s Chocolatetown will provide several new features:
  • Restaurant, Bar & Patio – The biggest full-service themed restaurant in Hershey
  • Flagship Store with the most extensive collection of Hersheypark merchandise.
  • Largest Kettle Corn location at Hersheypark
  • Ice Cream Parlor and Confectionary Scratch Kitchen
  • 2,200-square-foot Starbucks® Store
  • 15th Coaster - Fastest, Tallest, Longest, Sweetest
  • A new site for the Carrousel, turning 100 years old next year
  • New Arrival Experience and Front Gate
  • One-of-a-Kind KISSES Fountain

Chocolatetown will cost the park one hundred fifty million dollars and signifies the most extensive capital investment as well as the most significant enlargement of the Hershey Entertainment & Resort to date.

Some exciting features will include a brand new roller coaster, one which is guaranteed to be Hersheypark’s “tallest, fastest, longest, and also the sweetest addition.” Hershey’s Chocolatetown is also going to feature quite a bit of shopping, featuring a 10,000-square-foot flagship shop offering exclusive apparel, customized souvenirs along with toys, and an all-new boutique.



“This will be a definitive project for Hersheypark, HE&R and our destination,” said Lawn. “Inspired by our visionary founder, we are so proud to be able to leverage our remarkable history and our shared iconic brand in creating a sense of place that you can only find in Hershey, Pa.”

Chocolatetown will include five new places to eat, drink and gather, most notably the largest themed dining establishment, bar, and patio in Hershey along with one-of-a-kind perspectives of the park. Open year round, this full-service eating venue and bar will showcase a second-story patio area & bar as well as provide an exciting menu with hints of delicious chocolates, craft cocktails, and signature sweets.

Development is scheduled to get started in January of 2019, but Hersheypark is going to remain completely operational during the 2019 season as Chocolatetown will come to life during the summer of 2020.
