The Rubik's CubePhiladelphia, PA - Hungarian Professor Ernő Rubik in 1980 could not have imagined the success that would follow. The Rubik's Cube became the world's most popular puzzle.

Rubik's Cube Turn Forty

Today, 40 years later, the Rubik's Cube is widely acknowledged to be the world's most popular puzzle of all time.

During the last forty years, over 450 million Cubes have sold around the world. It's estimated that one in seven of the world's population – over one billion people – have attempted to solve the puzzle.

The Cube has nine squares of six different colors (white, yellow, orange, red, green, blue), has gone on to become one of the most recognizable artifacts of our times – a true pop culture icon.

Ernő Rubik, the Cube's inventor, has even written a book about the puzzle, called 'Cubed – the Puzzle of us all,' launched in the USA and throughout Europe in September 2020.

So, Happy Birthday Rubik's Cube!
